After a long history and pre-history, in the present, The Array has five Great Kingdoms. They are, from the Heights to the Depths: Sallumin, The Shadar Empire, The Dominion of Morath, Almerand, and Triene. There is also the Compact (a treaty of multiple kingdoms), and there are mega-corporations.
In addition, there are dozens of medium size kingdoms, and hundreds of smaller kingdoms, as well as thousands of independent systems and worlds that have no interstellar holdings. Some of these are balkanized, with their planet not yet unified, and many have no space travel capabilities. There are many thousands of smaller mining facilities and bases spread throughout the Array. Most of these are run by corporations.
